The ancient Nabatean city, known as the “rose city” due to its sandstone buildings that glow with a rosy hue. Built between 312 BC to AD 100, the city was a prosperous trading hub until destroyed by earthquakes. Featuring monumental temples, palaces, tombs and colonnaded streets intricately carved from the surrounding pink rock.
